Sperry Van Ness (SVN) was spending over $200,000 per month in IT costs. As commercial real-estate market slowed down, they were faced with reduced revenues and brokers demanding more from SVN’s IT group.
USourceIT’s Professional Services Division was brought in to help understand the technology and recommend a roadmap. The team quickly got up-to-speed with the technology based on meetings with the current development team and helped create a “Transition Plan” to a new development team, a new infrastructure support team as well as a new hosted environment.
As part of the system transition, using USourceIT's Source OnDemand™, a hosting partner was selected and the servers moved to this new environment. At the same time, two RFPs were developed: one to source a development partner for SVN applications, and the other to source Remote Infrastructure Management (RIM). Offshore vendors were subsequently selected, based on their track record of delivering similar projects. The model chosen was a fixed-fee model tied to stringent Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- USourceIT Conducted System (software, design, process) assessment and Knowledge transfer;
- Significantly improved the SVN’s proprietary product features and performance;
- SVN reduced their costs by 75% compared to vendors, it had selected prior to USourceIT’s involvement;
- Improved service levels. User requests turn-around time was reduced by more than 50%.
